A Bowling Green, Kentucky, resident has filed a lawsuit against Anthem Health Plans of Kentucky, alleging that the insurance carrier is refusing to cover the prescription drug Harvoni® — an FDA-approved medication that could save his life. The Anthem decision is contrary to recommendations from the patient’s doctors. More than 11 million Volkswagen diesel automobiles have been recalled. The recalled diesel vehicles include 2009-2015 Golf, Passat, Jetta and Beetle models. Some Audi A3 diesel automobiles have also been recalled.
Volkswagen installed a pollution control “Defeat Device” to work only during emissions testing. The pollution control equipment did not operate when these models were driven. Volkswagen deceived federal and state regulators, as well as vehicle owners, that these vehicles were “Clean Diesels,” when they were not.
After the recall fix, your vehicle will have the corrected pollution control equipment and will operate properly. Ultimately, however, this will negatively affect the performance of your vehicle.
