
Alex S. Rodger
Biography
As a Shareholder in Strauss Troy’s litigation group, Alex Rodger focuses on a wide range of complex commercial and business litigation, including class action defense. He approaches each case as a true business partner, addressing not just the legal aspects but also the best possible business outcome for his clients. With extensive trial experience under his belt, Alex has successfully handled numerous jury and bench trials on a variety of issues. He’s also known for his persuasive brief writing skills, having won countless dispositive motions and argued cases in appellate courts. Alex has a wealth of experience in real estate litigation, fiduciary disputes, breach of contract matters, non-compete and trade secret cases, as well as arbitrations.
But Alex’s expertise extends beyond just resolving disputes—he’s also committed to proactive solutions. He serves as outside general counsel for several closely held companies in the region, helping them navigate legal matters before they escalate. Alex’s advocacy and litigation skills have earned him recognition from The Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, and the Ohio State Bar Association. In 2015, he was one of just two attorneys statewide to receive the prestigious Rising Litigator Award from the OSBA’s litigation section. He has also been named a Rising Star in Business Litigation by Super Lawyers and recognized by Best Lawyers in America for his work in Commercial Litigation.
Prior to attending law school, Alex attended Pepperdine University and was a member of the Men’s Golf Team. He began a successful professional golf career upon graduation, playing all over the world and earning seven professional victories. Following his successful professional golf career, Alex attended the University of Cincinnati College of Law. While in law school, he was a nationally ranked mock trial competitor. He was also on the Dean’s List and the recipient of the ALI-ABA Scholarship and Leadership Award, as well as the John W. Peck Award for Trial Advocacy. Alex still competes in amateur golf tournaments around the country and has been name Greater Cincinnati Golf Association Player of the Year four times.
