Biography

With more than 30 years of experience in family law, Ruth Jackson is the founder of Jackson Family Law, which served Northern Kentucky families from 1996 through 2025. After nearly three decades leading her own practice, Ruth is excited to continue guiding clients through their most important personal matters as part of the Strauss Troy team.

Ruth focuses her practice on all areas of family law and relationship matters. She counsels clients through challenges that arise when a family is changing, or a relationship is ending, and she also advises clients at the beginning of relationships when planning for the future. Ruth approaches every legal concern with experience, foresight, and a commitment to developing solutions that reflect her clients’ needs, interests, and goals.

She is a member of the American Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association, Northern Kentucky Bar Association, and Cincinnati Bar Association, and has been active in the Family Law Sections of each throughout her career. Ruth has served as Director at Large for the NKBA Board of Directors (2001) and as Chair of the NKBA Family Law Section in multiple years (2002–2004, 2021, and 2022).

Ruth is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers; a national organization dedicated to excellence in family law, and she has been consistently recognized as a Super Lawyer.

A leader in collaborative law, Ruth helped organize the steering committee that established what is now The Academy of Northern Kentucky Collaborative Professionals. She served as the Academy’s President from 2002 to 2008 and continues to serve on its Board of Directors from 2002 to current.

Ruth has published in Kentucky Bench & Bar on divorce involving military members, and she has been a CLE speaker for the KBA and NKBA on family law and collaborative practice. She has also been a guest lecturer at Salmon P. Chase College of Law.
