Biography
David Gast is a dedicated and experienced attorney with over 25 years of practice in both criminal defense and civil litigation. He concentrates his private practice primarily on OVI defense, representing clients across Ohio with strategic, compassionate, and results-oriented advocacy. In addition to his criminal defense work, he maintains a diverse civil litigation practice, handling a wide range of matters with professionalism and attention to detail.
For the past five years, Mr. Gast has served as the Chief Prosecuting Attorney for the Municipal Criminal, Juvenile, and Abuse, Neglect, and Dependency Divisions in Clermont County, Ohio. In this role, he has gained invaluable insight into courtroom procedure, prosecutorial strategy, and the complexities of the justice system—experience that enhances his effectiveness as a defense attorney and litigator.
Known for his personalized and client-centered approach, Mr. Gast takes the time to understand each client’s individual goals and circumstances. He tailors his defense strategies to the unique needs of each case, ensuring that every client receives thoughtful, thorough, and effective representation.
Mr. Gast earned his Juris Doctor from Salmon P. Chase College of Law. During law school, he was selected to the prestigious Inns of Court, participated in numerous mock trials, and received several academic awards for excellence in advocacy and legal writing. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio and in the federal courts within the state.
Beyond his professional work, Mr. Gast is an active member of his community. He has volunteered as a youth baseball coach and hitting instructor, mentored young attorneys, and works closely with the Clermont County Animal Shelter to support its daily operations and promote animal welfare. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, playing baseball and golf, staying active in the gym, and caring for his three dogs.
