Nine International Lawyers Learn Best Practices From Strauss Troy As Part Of Institute For The Global Practice Of Law Program

Lawyers representing Nigeria, China, Italy, Costa Rica, Brazil and Jordan participated in the 2012 Institute for the Global Practice of Law program and had an opportunity to visit Strauss Troy to learn from some of the firm’s practice leaders. The event took place July 9-10th in Cincinnati, Ohio.

In partnership with the University of Cincinnati Law School, Strauss Troy President Jim Heldman participated in a law firm management roundtable with managing partners from two other area law firms. Together they addressed firm management and operations, including compensation matters, expenses, associate issues, client development and marketing, as well as trends and challenges for law firms and the legal profession.

Additionally, Rick Wayne, co-chairman of the Litigation Department, together with Joe Braun, a litigation attorney discussed the civil litigation process in the United States, both at the federal and state level. A detailed outline entitled “Introduction to Civil Litigation” was provided to each participant.

The Institute for the Global Practice of Law is a project developed by Walter Spiegel, vice president and general counsel of Standard Textile Co., Inc. The IGPL program is designed to provide participants with an educational experience that combines the following elements: instruction on substantive topics; panel discussions on topics related to professional development; practical exercises and networking opportunities.
