A Lifeline for Furry Friends: Auglaize County Humane Society Receives Vital Support from Local Community

Since 1974 the Auglaize County Humane Society in Wapakoneta, OH, has sheltered lost and surrendered animals in the community. As a non-profit, the shelter had recently fallen on hard times and wasn’t sure if it could continue to stay open. In hopes of saving the shelter, they organized a Save Our Shelter Campaign asking the Auglaize County community to support their mission.

Strauss Troy Paralegal Heather Harrison brought the campaign to the firm’s attention as her parents are two of the founding members and current hands-on directors of the shelter. Touched by the situation, many contributions were made, and the firm was able to make a donation of $4,200.

The overall campaign has been a success, and the shelter will be able to continue to stay open. Strauss Troy Shareholder Pete Smith also has ties to Auglaize County, and on July 29, Heather, Pete and their spouses made the trip up to the shelter to present them with the check. Strauss Troy is proud to support such a great cause and play a part in keeping the shelter open for the community!
