Strauss Troy Attorney Marty Butler has been named a 2014 recipient of Northern Kentucky University’s prestigious Lincoln Award. First bestowed in 1992, the Lincoln Award is presented to residents, or former residents, of Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana who demonstrate the qualities of exceptional citizenship, service and achievement in their professions and communities.
Marty will be honored tonight alongside fellow recipients Charles H. Brown, Rosemary K. Schlachter and Mark S. Schlachter. The ceremony will take place in the NKU Student Union Ballroom beginning with a reception at 6:30, followed by dinner at 7:15 and the award ceremony at 8:15.
While you might know Marty as a very successful and creative commercial real estate and business attorney, which is true, he is also extremely committed to giving back and serving organizations which are our very fabric and future. Marty is a role model and leader for all of us, and his commitment to Northern Kentucky has been a life-long pursuit.
Marty has served on the Northern Kentucky Board of Regents for 11 years, two of those as chair. Additionally, he served as chair of the NKU Presidential Search Committee. He has also served as chair of the Northern Kentucky Fine Arts Fund Campaign, president of Northern Kentucky Habitat for Humanity, and as board member of the Parish Kitchen, Senior Citizens of Northern Kentucky and Southbank Fund. These are only a few of the organizations that he has helped over the years with his leadership and generous support.
We are inspired by your spirit for service and commitment to community. Congratulations Marty, on your well-deserved honor and thank you for your leadership!
