Strauss Troy provided legal counsel to the renovation and expansion of its client, Education Matters, an organization dedicated to enhancing access to education, personal growth opportunities and the overall quality of life for the Lower Price Hill Community.

A recent article from the Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits showcased how this organization is able to renovate its facilities and expand services with assistance from new market tax credits (NMTCs) and historic tax credits (HTCs).

Strauss Troy attorneys Matthew Fellerhoff and Patrick Newton worked with this non-profit for over two years and assisted them in all real estate matters surrounding the expansion deal and in closing.

Education Matters, which runs its programs out of former St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will update its space to include a renovated education programming space, community Laundromat, thrift store, food pantry and business incubator that will be run in partnership with Xavier University. The renovations are scheduled for completion in September.
