Strauss Troy is kicking-off its 60th Anniversary year with the A Kid Again’s 22nd Annual Basketball Extravaganza.”
It’s Football vs. Baseball on the Basketball Court at the Bank of Kentucky Center. This year’s game, tips off at 7:30 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2013, and features some of your favorite Bengal’s and Red’s players. It will be a sell-out crowd with more than 7,500 people attending.
The “Basketball Extravaganza” is a charitable event benefiting A Kid Again. More than 27,000 children are diagnosed annually with a life threatening illness. Today, due to medical advances, most children will fight their illnesses for five to 10 years!
After spending more than a decade granting wishes to children with life threatening illnesses, a group of caring individuals saw one great need… ongoing hope. These compassionate volunteers believed that smiles, laughter and friendships are truly life’s best medicine. They saw an opportunity to provide continuing support, with fun filled group activities for these children and their families. In 2011/2012 A Kid Again’s sponsors, partners & volunteers served 15,632 children & parents at 43 adventures.
“This event has always been a great success benefiting the children of our tri-state area battling life threatening illnesses,” said Strauss Troy President Jim Heldman. “We are glad to help and team-up for this great organization.”
