Strauss Troy Supporting 22nd Annual Mardi Gras To Benefit Homeless Children

Around the Greater Cincinnati | Northern Kentucky region, Fat Tuesday raises funds for a good cause. Strauss Troy is pleased to be a partner sponsor for the annual Northern Kentucky Restaurant Association’s Mardi Gras.

Now in its 22nd year, the event on Tuesday, February 12th, benefits homeless children and has raised $1.1 million for Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky shelters serving children and teens. This year, supporters hope to add another $100,000 to that total.

In a recent Cincinnati Enquirer article, Bear Clifton, development director at Brighton Center said, “This event plays a critical role because the proceeds from Mardi Gras for Homeless Children pay for our food budget for the entire year.” That agency’s Homeward Bound Shelter in Covington serves runaway and homeless youths ages 11 to 18.

The benefiting agencies – Bethany House Services, Brighton Center’s Homeward Bound, Mercy Health-St. John and Welcome House of Northern Kentucky, Inc. – say they couldn’t afford to feed the homeless children they serve without the proceeds from the annual event.
