Philomena Saldanha Ashdown

Mrs. Ashdown practices in the areas of bankruptcy (Chapter 11 and workouts), UCC and general commercial law, banking, and debtor-creditor law. She currently serves on the Board of the TriState Association for Corporate Recovery. She is the co-founder and the first President of Commercial Real Estate Women, Inc. of Greater Cincinnati (CREW) and was President of the Greater Cincinnati Women Lawyer's Association. Mrs. Ashdown previously served on subcommittees of the Ohio State Bar Association that analyzed and recommended the adoption and revision of various articles of the Uniform Commercial Code. She is serving her second year as President of SAC, a volunteer committee at the Gamble-Nippert YMCA that organizes activities to benefit the nursery and pre-school programs.
Mrs. Ashdown is a graduate of the University of Madras (Stella Maris College) (B.Sc. 1978) and the University of Madras Law College (LL.B. 1984). She also has a law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School (J.D. 1986) where she was a member of the 1985 International Law Moot Court Team, which won the first place award for the Best Brief at the International Moot Court Competition.
