On June 6th, Strauss Troy hosted the Summer Work Experience in Law (SWEL) opening reception in its Cincinnati office. SWEL offers minority high school and college students the opportunity to gain first-hand experience working in law firms, corporate law departments, government law departments and with area Federal and State Court judges. This experience helps the students decide if they would like to pursue a career in law. It also gives them an opportunity to develop a network of contacts in the legal community. These relationships are valuable regardless of which career path the students choose.

Strauss Troy has been a supporter of SWEL since its inception in 1988. The firm has had a summer intern from the SWEL program each year for more than 25 years. Strauss Troy Attorney Charles Ashdown joined the SWEL board of directors several years ago and currently serves as Treasurer.

“Strauss Troy has been fortunate to have a number of talented and energetic summer interns from the SWEL program over the years. We like to keep in touch, and help them as their careers develop. It is an honor to be part of such a wonderful program for young people.”
