Strauss & Troy was the proud host of the Welcome Reception for the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) 2009 Midwest Regional Conference. Conference attendees, including local officials, developers, lenders, architects, and other industry professionals gathered in the elegant Hall of Mirrors in the Netherland Hilton in Downtown Cincinnati to kick off the April 23-25 conference. This was the first time Cincinnati has hosted the regional conference for the thirteen-state Midwest region of CREW.
The “Urban Renaissance” theme of this year’s conference is a tribute to the rebirth of Cincinnati’s Downtown and Uptown districts, riverfront development in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, and the revitalization of Fountain Square. Highlights of the conference included a Riverfront Development Riverboat Tour featuring local officials speaking about transformation of the waterfront on both sides of the River, a Keynote speech by Councilmember Roxanne Qualls, and sessions on Capital Markets and LEED Certification. Philomena Ashdown of Strauss and Troy is a founding member of the CREW Cincinnati Chapter.
