Eric Francis serves his clients in the areas of real estate, lending, and commercial transactions for individuals, small businesses, financial institutions, and international corporations. An Ohio native, Eric understands the dynamics and demands of local businesses and the role they play in national and global markets.
Eric’s real estate practice focuses on the drafting and negotiation of real estate purchase transactions involving commercial and residential real property. He helps developers, investors, and corporations understand the necessity of due diligence, the contractual points of contention, and the issues involved with construction and leasing. Eric has also acted as title agent for more than $250,000,000 worth of real estate transactions and takes an active role in all stages of the process. Outside of purchase transactions, Eric also represents landlords and tenants in commercial and residential leases, condominium and homeowner associations, and the disputes arising from those relationships.
Eric assists banks and borrowers in Ohio, Florida, and across the country, with various types of lending transactions involving diverse collateral. He has extensive experience drafting and reviewing mortgages, loan agreements, security agreements, pledge agreements, guaranty agreements, UCC financing statements, loan modifications, and many other loan documents. He is well-versed in performing due diligence searches and analyzing liens and other encumbrances. Eric’s familiarity with the intricacies of internal bank policies and complex financing allows him to advise financial institutions throughout the life of a loan.
